Three Poems by Octavio Paz, with 27 original lithographs by Robert Motherwell

Limited edition signed by Paz and initialed by Motherwell

"The search for poetic modernity was a Quest, in the allegorical and chivalric sense this word had in the 12th Century. I did not find any Grail although I did cross several waste lands visiting castles of mirrors and camping among ghostly tribes."

-Octavio Paz, from his 1990 Nobel Prize acceptance speech

"Most painting in the European tradition was painting the mask. Modern art rejected all that. Our subject matter was the person behind the mask."

-Robert Motherwell
