Large limited edition mezzotint, 1 of only 250 copies, printed
by hand from the original engraved copper plate.
The portrait, showing Churchill standing outside 10 Downing Street,
is believed to have been created to celebrate Churchill's becoming Prime
Minister in May 1940.
Engraved by Henry Macbeth Raeburn (1860-1947), noted Scottish painter
and mezzotint engraver and member of the Royal Academy and Royal Society
of Painters, Etchers, and Engravers.
With facsimile Churchill signature beneath portrait. Handsomely
framed in classic English Bird Eye Walnut. $1600.
