Faulkner's Classic Novel: As I Lay Dying

First edition, first issue, 1 of only 750 copies

"I set out deliberately to write a tour-de-force. Before I ever put pen to paper and set down the first words, I knew what the last word would be. Before I began I said, I am going to write a book by which, at a pinch, I can stand or fall if I never touch ink again."

Faulkner, on the composition of As I Lay Dying

Faulkner, William. As I Lay Dying. New York: Jonathan Cape, (1930). Octavo, original cream cloth, original dust jacket.

First edition, first issue (with capital "I" at page 11 not aligned) of the Faulkner's classic work, in the original dust jacket. Book near-fine, with some darkening to spine, exceptionally bright dust jacket with only light darkening and edgewear to spine only.  Three minute repaired closed tears to spine edges.  Front and rear panels spotless.  An outstanding copy of a fragile book.
